Stanley R. Price, born on May 15, 1944, in Flemington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in Bridgewater, New Jersey. A long-time member of the Flemington racing community, Stanley leaves behind a legacy rich in hard work and shared experiences.
Stanley dedicated many years of his life to his career at Johanna Farms in Flemington. He was also the proud owner and operator of Stanley Price Welding, where he showcased his skills as a welder and fabricator. His work ethic and commitment to craftsmanship were evident in everything he did, earning him the respect of peers and clients alike.
In his younger years, Stanley was known for his adventurous spirit and passion for motorsports. He reveled in building and racing drag race cars, as well as attending stock car races with friends and family. His enthusiasm for restoring vintage race cars and participating in truck pulls at the Flemington Fair and the former Flemington Speedway became part of the fabric of his life, filled with vibrant stories and treasured memories.
Stanley's personality was characterized by his quick wit and busting the chops of his closest friends and family, endearing him to those around him. He possessed a talent for storytelling that captivated listeners, often bringing laughter and joy to gatherings with his animated anecdotes.
Outside of work, Stanley enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests, which included fishing in his beloved Ranger boat and hunting across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Arkansas. He participated in trap shooting and was a committed member of several bowling leagues with friends and his late wife, Eileen, at the former Frenchtown Lanes. Additionally, he was a long-time member of the Flemington Moose Lodge, where he built lasting friendships.
Stanley is survived by his family members, including his nephew, George Price and his wife Jennifer of Flemington, NJ, his niece, Donna Norkevich and her husband John of Stockton, NJ, and his niece, Karen Gorman and her husband, Donald of Flemington, NJ, along with several other family members who will cherish his memory and celebrate his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Price Opdyke, his brother, George C. Price, Sr., who passed away in 2018, and his wife, Eileen Cregar Price, who left us in 2021.
Stanley's contributions to his family and community will always be remembered, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of hard work and cherished memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A viewing will be held on October 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, located at 147 Main St, Flemington, NJ 08822, followed by a funeral service officiated by the Rev. Chris Ryan beginning at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
