William G. Witt, age 69, of Clinton NJ, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Hunterdon Medical Center.
Born May 21, 1953 in Jersey City NJ, Bill was the son of the late William Witt and his mother, Doris (Straube) Witt. He lived in Hoboken NJ until the age of 10 when his family moved to Hunterdon County NJ where he has lived since.
Bill was always very handy and became a carpenter as his profession, specializing in residential home projects, furniture making, and other renovation tasks. He operated Witt Carpentry for many years in the Hunterdon County area.
Bill loved listening to all kinds of music and playing the guitar for all to appreciate. He enjoyed many types of fishing, coaching his son, Patrick, in baseball, as well as watching him play football and wrestle. He had many happy memories traveling with his wife, Rose, and many friends to various destinations like Florida, Vegas, Spain and Portugal.
Bill also enjoyed hosting his annual Washer Tournament Picnic for many years, holiday gatherings or any other opportunity to spend time with all his family and friends.
In addition to his father, Bill was predeceased by his brother, David Witt. He is survived by his wife, Rose (Lunden) Witt, his son, Patrick Mancini of Milford NJ, his mother, Doris (Straube) Witt of Eugene OR, his sister, Karen Daly of Eugene OR, his brother and sister-in-law, Gerard and Pam Witt of Reunion CO, several cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as three of his most favorite people, Beatrice Eisenberg and Danny and Salem Thatcher.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ 08822. Cremation will follow privately. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
