Victor E. Brown, age 86 years, of West Amwell Township, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, March 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Florence Kendall and Elmer J. Brown. He grew up in Trenton, NJ, then went on to New York City, where he volunteered with the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society for three years. He then moved to Hunterdon County, NJ, living in Ringoes, NJ, and finally West Amwell Township, NJ, where he lived most of his life.
Mr. Brown was formerly employed by Volkswagen of Flemington for three years. He then enjoyed a long career with the Elizabethtown Gas Company, spending over thirty years at the utility company. He retired at the age of 62 in the late 1990's. Always staying active, Victor was also a licensed barber with the State of New Jersey. A Jehovah’s Witness, he was a dedicated member and elder of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses here locally for decades.
In his spare time, he enjoyed vacationing to his house in Liberty, Maine where he could fish. In addition, he loved to hunt in Kingwood Township, NJ and on his property in West Amwell and fish the Delaware River in Lambertville, NJ. He enjoyed deep sea fishing off of New Jersey and New York as well. Above all, his family remembers him as an exceptionally hard worker.
Victor was predeceased by his wife, Paula E. Brown, who died in 1994, as well as his brother, Grafton Brown.
He is survived by his children, Keith E. Brown (Carla) of Philadelphia, PA, and Stephen L. Brown (Tricia) of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Cocoa Brown, Stefan Brown, Gabriel Brown, and Rachel Brown; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Brown of Trenton, NJ, as well as Lydia Raysor (Robert), of Ewing, NJ.
Burial, next to his late wife, will take place privately in Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Route 29, Lambertville, NJ.
A memorial service will take place in a few weeks at a date and time to be determined by the family.
