Vicki Tuschak died peacefully and comfortably in her home on Friday, February 6, 2026, succumbing to a battle with cancer. She was 78 years of age.
Vicki was born on April 4, 1947 to Noemi and Seymore Tuschak in New York City. She married, had Gretchen, and in March of 1985, she married Craig Wolfson, settled in Clinton Township and continued for another 41 years.
We have all lost a beautiful, unique, warm, magnificent friend.
She touched every fiber of everyone she knew. She was sensitive, good natured, forgave everyone and was deeply spiritual with a Jewish background and a leaning towards Buddhism.
Vicki was raised in Bound Brook, attended Rutgers Prep where she made friends-for-life, was part of her deeply loved Bound Brook High School friends, attended Long Island University, and moved to Hunterdon County where she lived until her passing.
She followed her father and her older brother Bob, into real estate. She became a Realtor in Hunterdon County and remained as one for over 40 years, only recently giving up her license. During her career, Vicki was usually a member of a prestigious Top Producer category. In addition, she maintained the highest level of integrity and refused to compromise during her real estate career, which I’m sure comes as no surprise to those who knew her.
She was devoted to all family members, an avid gardener and practiced meditation and spiritual awareness each day, right up to her final days. She was a Kripalu-Certified yoga instructor and demonstrated her compassion for those afflicted with deadly diseases by regularly teaching yoga at the HMC Cancer Center for a few years following her breast cancer surgeries. She always found time during her busy career to do so. Never did she think she would become a member of this community.
She loved travelling throughout Europe and did so for a month or so every year for well over a decade until she could no longer travel. She loved Paris and knew its landscape as well as she did NYC. A few years ago, we visited her grandmother’s grave in the main Vienna cemetery. We cleaned the stone and our guide translated the writing and we then celebrated her family’s life.
Her favorite quote was from her husband Craig: “I love that you’re my wife, but even more, I love being your husband.”
But the rock in her life, her guiding star and angel, was her mother. Vicki worshipped her Vienna-born, Hungarian-trained, concert pianist Mimi as she did her Brother Bob, never just Bob, but always Brother Bob. The bond that linked them was always present and held until Vicki’s final moments. Vicki, of course, continued her mother’s concert pianist talent.
Besides her husband of 41 years, Vicki will forever be cherished by members of her family. She is missed and loved by children, in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Children Gretchen Malon and her husband Johnny Rotz, step-children Keith Wolfson and his wife JoAnn, grandchildren Todd and Wyatt, Jonathon and Mason, great-grandchildren MJ, Carter, Bryson and Jaxson. Her loved ones extend to her sister-in-law Gail Tuschak, nieces Santoshi, Jaya and her husband Seth and their children Simone, Sydney and Stella, Gabrielle and her life partner Erik and daughter Bo and Grace and her husband Nick and their daughter Eloise.
Vicki always claimed that her extended family of loved ones were true family. JoAnna Foyle and her husband Frans Vermuelen, Patrick and Luisa Sparrow-Foyle and their children Cassidy and Vivian. She always considered her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law to also be her true family, Martin Wolfson and his wife Betty, their children Adam and his wife Tabitha, Sarah and her husband Mike, their children Violet, Nathaniel and Teddy and Michael and his wife Danielle and their twins currently enjoying living quite happily within their mom, and Sharon Wolfson, her husband Tony and Gail Wolfson.
Vicki transitioned her life at home within Hunterdon Health Hospice, a magnificent organization that treated her so warmly and with such great dignity.
We all thought we understood what Maya Angelou wrote a few years ago, “In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine.” We now understand it’s true meaning.
When bathing in the memories of beautiful Vicki, smile, and remember the wonderful times we spent with her. This is how we should remember Vicki.
A memorial service will take place at Or Chadash at 149 Foothill Road in Flemington NJ, on Wednesday, February 11 at 2:00pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, also in Flemington.
Donations in Vicki’s memory may be made to Hunterdon Health Hospice, the magnificent organization that transitioned Vicki so warmly and with such grace and dignity at the Hunterdon Health Foundation “Make a Gift” page.
