Thomas "Tom" B. Dole, 80, of Worden, IL passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born in Trenton, New Jersey, on May 21, 1945, the son of the late Willard B. and the late Elsie (Rolle) Dole.
Tom is a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. After his service, he worked at Hazelwood West High School, first as the band director, then transitioning to the position of Coordinator of the Fine Arts Department for the Hazelwood School District, all after obtaining his Master's Degree.
Tom was a member of the Troy Methodist Church, the Bethalto Masonic Lodge, and the local Wood River/Alton Shriner's Club. He enjoyed listening to and performing music, gardening, and cats. Most of all, Tom loved to spend time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his children, Richard (Stacy) Dole of Indianapolis, IN, Fred Dole of Rochester, NY, and Erica (Bradley) Kerney of St. Peter's, MO; a brother, Frank (Cindy) Dole of Florida; and three grandchildren, Griffin, Ellington, and Gabriella.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4 pm until the time of service at 6 pm, at Troy Methodist Church, 407 Edwardsville Road, Troy, IL 62294. Pastor Andy Adams will officiate.
