Scott Scammell, Ii

October 26, 1918 — February 3, 1984

Scott Scammell II, age 65 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died Friday, February 3, 1984 at his home.

Born in Morrisville, PA, Mr. Scammell was a former resident of Titusville, and had lived in Readington for 25 years.

An attorney, he was a partner in the law firm of Large, Scammell, and Danziger, 117 Main St., Flemington, for 25 years.

He was a 1941 graduate of Princeton University, and of Harvard Law School. He was a Navy pilot during World War II, serving on the aircraft carrier Hornet II.

He was the NJ state president of the Sons of the Revolution; a member of the Hunterdon County Bar Assoc.; the New Jersey Bar Assoc.; the Whitehouse Rotary Club; the Copper Hill Country Club of Flemington; and the V.F.W. Post of Three Bridges. He was counsel for the Readington Township Board of Adjustment, and was a former member and past president of the Hunterdon Central High School Board of Education.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Jones Scammell; three sons, Scott Scammell III of Lebanon, Stephen W. Scammell of Morristown, and Charles J. Scammell of Manhattan, NY; two daughters, Susan Carpenter of Simsbury, CT, and Shelley Scammell of Manhattan; a brother, Robert Scammell of Yardley, PA; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in Calvary Episcopal Church, Flemington, under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington.
