Sally Hunter

Sally Hunter, a dedicated healthcare professional and beloved member of her family, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Brookdale Florence Assisted Living Facility, Florence, NJ. She was 88 years old. Born on August 23, 1937, in Moorestown, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sarah (McFadden) Hunter. She devoted her life to caring for others, beginning with her education at the Columbia University School of Nursing in New York City, NY.

Sally's career began as a Registered Nurse, where she utilized her skills and compassion in various healthcare settings across Massachusetts and Maine. Ultimately, she found her home in San Francisco, CA, where she practiced as a Private Care Nurse for the majority of her life, ensuring her patients received personalized and attentive care.

Five years ago, Sally relocated to Flemington, NJ, to be closer to her family, embodying her lifelong commitment to nurturing those she loved. Sally is remembered for her warm spirit, tremendous empathy, and dedication to her nursing colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends throughout her engaging career.

She is survived by her two brothers, Francis Hunter of Raritan Township, NJ, and John Hunter of Voorhees Township, NJ. Sally was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Cynthia Ann Hunter, who passed away March 31, 2025.

An avid reader, Sally enjoyed immersing herself in literature, which often provided her with a deeper understanding of the world around her and enriched her compassionate practice. Her legacy as a committed nurse and cherished family member will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
