Ruth Beam Harrison

Ruth Beam Harrison, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 28, 2026, in Doylestown, just two weeks shy of her 101st birthday. She was born on October 10, 1925, in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy (Knox) Beam.

Ruth lived a long and meaningful life shaped by devotion to family, creativity, curiosity, and faith. From 1969 to 1986, she made her home in Pittstown, New Jersey, where she raised her family. In 1986, she moved to Chester, Vermont, where she lived until 2014. She eventually settled in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where she spent the past 12 years.

She found joy in the beauty of the world around her and in the many interests she pursued with care and enthusiasm. Ruth enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Norman, and treasured the experiences they shared together. She was an accomplished painter who offered many of her pieces at local craft shops and shows, sharing her artistic gifts with her community. Her green thumb was a source of great pride, and her garden reflected the patience and attention she brought to the things she loved. She was also deeply involved in researching history and documenting her family genealogy, preserving stories and connections that mattered greatly to her.

Faith was an important part of Ruth’s life. She was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania, where she was part of a community that was meaningful to her.

In addition to her parents. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Harrison, who died in 2018; and her daughter, Cynthia Paieda, who died in 2021. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey B. Harrison and Dr. Nancy Harrison of Stockton NJ, her granddaughter, Olivia Harrison of Chicago IL, and her son-in-law, George Paieda.

A memorial gathering at Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury Pa is being planned for a later date, as well as interment in Factoryville PA. Ruth will be remembered for the life she built across the years, for the family she raised, for the beauty she created with her hands, and for the care she gave to preserving both gardens and history. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
