Robert H. Kleckner, born on March 12, 1931, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, in Delaware Township, New Jersey, where he resided for more than 65 years. He was 95 years old.
Robert led a long and rewarding life, marked by dedication to his family and his work. After graduating from Flemington High School in 1948, Robert eventually pursued a successful career as a tool and die maker/machinist. After retiring from Harter Tool & Die Company, in Pennington, New Jersey, he further served his community with distinction, working part-time for the Delaware Township Board of Health until retiring in 2021. His professionalism and steadfast commitment made a meaningful impact on the lives of many.
Robert’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-nine years, Carol Kleckner, who stood by his side throughout life’s journey. Together, they raised three daughters: Barbara Stubbins (Dan), Robin Kerr, and Sherri Schulz (Dave). Robert’s legacy endures through his cherished grandchildren: Emily Stubbins, Danielle Reid (Ron), Austin Kerr (fiance, Gavin Sheaf), and Hailee Naqvi (Abbas). He is also survived by three nephews, a niece, and their families. He was predeceased by his father, George Kleckner, mother Julia Acker, and his sister Regina Strausser.
Robert enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter. He also cherished time spent camping with his family and friends and travelling throughout many of the states in the United States. He also looked forward to watching the New York Yankees and Nascar racing, having attended many events for both in person.
Robert’s gentle presence, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His life was an example of integrity, compassion, and dedication, and his memory will continue to inspire his family and friends for generations to come.
Cremation services will be held privately under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the Delaware Township Fire Company, PO Box 87, Sergeantsville, NJ 08557, or the Lambertville-New Hope First Aid and Rescue, PO Box 237, Lambertville, NJ 08530.
