Robert E. Runyon

Robert E. Runyon, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away on October 19, 2026 at Crestwood Manor Health Care. He was 88 years old. Born on June 30, 1938, in Somerville, New Jersey, he lived a long life marked by steady work, and enduring connections to those who knew him.

Robert worked as a truck driver for Inter County Refuse Service in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. His years in that role reflected a life of dedication and responsibility, and he will be remembered for the work he did and the example of perseverance he set.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Runyon; his mother, Elizabeth Runyon; his wives, Gertrude Runyon and Mary B. Runyon; and his step-sons, Danny Tindall and Charles Tindall.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Robin Cook, Penny Clark, and Susan Brokaw; his brother, Jerry Runyon; and his great-grandchild, Luna Warsholl, and seven grandchildren. He will be remembered with love by his family, who carry forward his memory and the place he held in their lives.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Readington Reformed Church Cemetery, 124 Readington Road, Readington Township, New Jersey 08889 under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. 

Robert E. Runyon will be remembered with respect and affection by those who knew him, and his memory will remain a lasting part of his family’s story.
