Rev. Richard A. Wolf

CHERRYVILLE - The Rev. Richard A. Wolf died Friday, July 19, 2002, at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vt. He was 89. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., to William and Christine Poser Wolf, and had lived most of his life in Elizabeth, then in Deer Isle, Maine, then in Cherryville for 16 years until 2002 when he moved to Shaftsbury, Vt. He was a bus driver for Public Service Coordinated Transport in Elizabeth for many years, then was pastor of Oceanville (Maine) Baptist Church for 22 years. An Army veteran of World War II, he was active in the Hunterdon Camp of Gideon International where he was active in its prison ministry. He was a former member of the Baptistown Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Paashaus Wolf; a daughter, Helen Hain of Shaftsbury, Vt.; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home in Flemington. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington.
