Reba Schaffernoth, age 88 years, of Ormond Beach, FL, died on June 29, 2003 at Bishop's Glen Health Care Center, Nursing Home, and Rehabilitation Center in Holly Hill, FL. Born in Frenchtown, NJ on July 15, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Martin Opdycke and Laura (Heath) Opdycke. She was co-owner of Schaffernoth Farms & Schaffernoth Flowers in Ringoes, NJ. Reba was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Schaffernoth, who died in 1989. Interment in Saint Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
Reba Schaffernoth, 88, of Ormond Beach, Fla. died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Bishop's Glen Care Center in Holly Hill, Fla.
She was born in Frenchtown the daughter of the late Martin and Laura Heath Opdycke, she lived in Ringoes, most of her life before moving to Florida six years ago.
She was a homemaker and co-owner of a dairy farm and Schaffernoth Flowers, both in Ringoes with her late husband, Anthony Schaffernoth.
She was a member of the Amwell Valley Fire Company Ladies, Auxiliary and was active in the Hunterdon County Republican Party. She was also a former member of the Hunterdon County Board of Elections.
Her husband Anthony, died in 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Farmer and her husband John Farmer of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Karen Montross of Chincoteague, Va.; five grandchildren, Jennifer Phillips and Rebecca Farmer of Florida, Tom Montross of Colorado, Chris and Tony Montross of Virginia; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Hanna and Emily Phillips, Jonathan Farmer and Julia Penn.
Funeral arrangements were made by Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home in Flemington.
