Born in Hunterdon County, NJ on January 22, 1894, he was the son of the late Orville Merrell and Emma Hoff.

Mr. Merrell was a retired farmer.

He was survived by his wife, Wilhelmina (Bush) Merrell.

Interment in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ.
