Born in Ringoes, NJ on February 29, 1880, he was the son of the late Joseph Philhower and Laura Compton.

Mr. Philhower was the retired owner of Ringoes Lumber Company.

He was predeceased by his wife, Harriet (Higgins) Philhower, who died in 1945.

Interment in Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ.
