Peter Anthony Serrone

December 15, 1974 — May 18, 2026

Riegelsville, PA

It is with profound sadness we announce Peter Anthony Serrone, age 51 years, of Riegelsville, PA, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026. He passed at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous, two and a half year battle with ALS. Born on December 15, 1974, in Somerville, NJ, Pete was the son of Maureen (Reilly) Serrone and Aniceto "John" Serrone. He had formerly resided in Hunterdon County, Warren County, and finally Bucks County, PA. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and public servant, Pete exemplified reliability and steadfastness in every aspect of his life, leaving a legacy marked by dedication, service, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Growing up in Hunterdon County, NJ Pete established deep roots in the community that would shape much of his life's work. Throughout his life, Pete was driven by a profound sense of duty and selfless service to others.

Pete began his distinguished law enforcement career in 1999 as an officer with the Raritan Township Police Department, where he served with distinction until 2012. Following this, he transitioned to the Readington Township Police Department, eventually retiring as a Corporal in 2022. His tenure was characterized by professionalism and dedication to public safety. Complementing his police work, Pete was a 30-year, life member of the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad. His involvement began as a volunteer for 16 years before transitioning to a paid EMT role, further exemplifying his commitment to community welfare.

Beyond his public service, Pete was work ethic personified. He contributed as a driver for the Kalafer family, served as a local school bus driver, and worked as a funeral assistant at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home. Prior to his diagnosis, he was also the Head of Security at Johanna Foods, consistently embracing roles that underscored his reliability and dedication.

Pete's interests were broad and vibrant. He was an Executive Board Member of the Italian American Police Society and was extremely proud of both his Italian and Irish heritage. Furthermore, he was an avid motorcyclist, passionate about the annual police unity tour in Washington, DC. His love for New York City was profound; as he enjoyed taking trips in to the city and was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees. Leisure pursuits included RVing, camping, and cherished trips to the beach — a particular favorite. Additionally, he was known as a Tito’s vodka connoisseur, reflecting his appreciation for life's finer pleasures.

Above all, Pete prided himself on his family. His proudest accomplishment was being the ultimate family man, a title his loved ones will undoubtedly affirm. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 28 years, Nancy (Goff) Serrone; his two beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Maeghan Lee and her husband Sean, as well as Emilie Smith and her husband Brandon; and his grandson, August Peter “Auggie” Lee. Also mourning his loss are his parents, Aniceto “John” Serrone and Maureen (Reilly) Serrone, alongside several siblings, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Pete’s dependable nature and warm presence made him someone “always there for everybody, somebody you could count on.” He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
