Paul Molnar

August 4, 1948 — February 23, 2024

Pál Molnár, a man of strength, resilience, and boundless love, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 23rd, in the embrace of his devoted wife of 39 years, Susan. He was 75 years old.

Born on August 4th, 1948, in Budapest, Hungary, on the Pest side of the city, son of the late Pál and Livia (Resész) Molnár, his early years were marked by tales of resilience and perseverance. He often recounted stories of his childhood, where he navigated the challenges of a world where food was scarce, and times were tough, especially during the 1956 revolution. Pál proudly served in the military and bravely embarked on a journey of hope and freedom, escaping Russian communism in Hungary with his friends by jumping the border fence in the early 70’s.

In the vibrant streets of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Pál found not only a new home but also love. It was at a restaurant in Hopewell called the “Hopewell Inn” where he met the love of his life, Susan, who would stand by his side through every triumph and trial. Two other family restaurants they started together were “Pennington Bistro & Hopewell Valley Bistro & Inn." Páls passion for cooking brought joy to countless hearts as he delighted in seeing others savor the fruits of his labor.

A man of the outdoors, Pál found solace in hunting, fishing, tending to his farm animals, and basking in the tranquility of nature on his tractor. He shared cherished moments with his children Peter, Palkó, Angie, and Erika. Grandchildren Palika, Tomika, Devon, Elijah, Marcel, Mila and newest edition, baby Ellie. Imparting wisdom and instilling values of determination and kindness.

Throughout his life, Pál's unwavering determination and selflessness were evident in his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. Despite a 10-year battle with stomach cancer, he remained a pillar of strength, embodying courage and resilience until his final moments.

Pál Molnár leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Though he may have departed this world, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
