Patricia Nelson, age 62 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on February 4, 2016 at her residence.
Born on November 4, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bernadine Hudock Sherman.
Patti as most knew her, was a fun loving woman who was caring and very down to earth and loved simple farm life and was obsessed with cows. She spent her life always trying to make everyone happy and most times she succeeded. She was a humble woman content to work factory work or whatever job it would take to put food on the table and a roof over her head and her family's heads as well. Patti was a loving and dedicated mother, wife, and daughter. She gave much to charity when she had money and always went to church with at least a $20 for the collection plate. Patti was one of the best women a person could know and would do all she could for anyone and everyone, all people were equal and given at least one chance to by her. She will be much missed.
Her life story is long but simple and in her last years somewhat complicated, but all her life she loved God and had embraced Judaism before her death by embracing her family roots and "to be a good Jewish grandmother," as she said.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Nelson, her daughter, Sarah Nelson (born Heather, but later changed name after her own Jewish conversion), her grandson, Jack Thor Nelson, and her three siblings, Robert Sherman, Lynn Sherman, and Gail Hufnagel. She's also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins
