Nazzarena Albanese, a cherished soul whose life was marked by dedication, creativity, and unwavering love for her family, passed away on May 24, 2026, in Delaware Township, New Jersey. Born on November 3, 1946, in Frosinone, Italy, Nazzarena’s journey was one shaped by hard work, resilience, and deep familial bonds.
Nazzarena grew up in Frosinone as the youngest of fourteen children. In 1964, she courageously immigrated to the United States by boat, embarking on a new life that would bring her countless treasured experiences and accomplishments. From her early years in Italy, she honed her skills as a seamstress, a craft in which she excelled, notably fashioning uniforms for the Italian Army. Her talent and meticulous attention to detail were a testament to her pride in her work.
Later, she retired from Anadigics in Warren, NJ, where she assembled computer chips and parts, evidencing her adaptability and commitment to excellence in all endeavors. Beyond her professional life, Nazzarena found joy and purpose on the family farm in Delaware Township, where alongside her husband, Nicola Albanese, she tended to the land and nurtured a life of simplicity and hard work. Together, they built their beautiful home in Delaware Township, a proud testament to their shared dreams and dedication.
Nazzarena was a woman of many talents and passions. She had an extraordinary gift for cooking and baking, especially when it came to traditional Italian meals and desserts. A true farm-to-table cook, she lovingly used the fruits of her vegetable and flower gardens and farm to prepare countless delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Her love for entertaining was well-known; her home was often filled with laughter, warmth, and the comforting aromas of her culinary masterpieces.
Her family and those who knew her will remember Nazzarena for her kindness, her craftiness, and her unyielding devotion. She was surrounded by love through all stages of her life and at her passing, embraced by her family.
Nazzarena is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Nicola Albanese; her daughter, Mary Albanese of Waretown NJ; her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Michael Tomaseck of Hopewell Township, NJ. and her son and daughter-in-law, Nicola and Julie Albanese of Flemington, NJ She was also a beloved grandmother to seven grandsons and one granddaughter. Additionally, she leaves behind four siblings, who share in the sorrow of her loss and the pride of her life’s journey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustino and Ida (Taglienti) Perna, and nine of her thirteen siblings, memories of whom she carried close to her heart throughout her life.
Services to honor and celebrate Nazzarena's life will begin with a viewing held on May 28, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home located at 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 29, 2026, beginning at 10:30 AM at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by entombment at St. Magdalen Mausoleum at 94 North Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
