Michael Tucholski, Sr., 61, of Lebanon NJ, died on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Hunterdon Medical Center. He had battled cancer for most of 2022.
Born in Rutherford on November 27, 1961, son of Claire and Raymond Tucholski Sr., he had lived in Rutherford before he married in 1983.
At Rutherford High School, Mike excelled on the track team competing in triathlons and in the Tournament of Champions in pole vaulting. After graduation in 1979, he attended Glassboro College before he joined the Carpenter’s Union. He started his own carpentry and construction business and continued to operate MT3 construction up to his passing.
Michael was a man of many skills, abilities and talents. As a quality carpenter he took the utmost pride in his work and recently purchased a saw mill to mill his own wood for specialty projects. He was also accomplished in farming his land and raising chickens.
Mike served as an Army Sergeant for two terms in Iraq. While serving he explored the area and surrounding towns for IED’s and lead an elite group of army men and women. He was a member of the National Guard and was a first responder to the 9-11 Twin Towers attack.
Family was an integral part of Mike’s life. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting, boating and just spending time with close family and friends. There is no doubt that whoever Mike met, he touched their lives. He was the kind of person you looked forward to being in his company.
