Maryann Bacorn, age 89 years, former long-time resident of Hunterdon County, NJ, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Presbyterian Senior Living Pine Run Village in Doylestown, PA
Born in Flemington, NJ, September 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Margaret (Kreitler) Bacorn.
She was a graduate of Flemington High School, with the Class of 1953.
Maryann devoted her life to the nursing profession. She was a graduate of the Mercer Hospital School of Nursing, Trenton, NJ, then went on to receive two additional degrees; a B.S. from the Cedar Crest College, School of Nursing in 1970, as well as her B.A. in fine arts, also from Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA in 1978.
She enjoyed a extensive career at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington, NJ, where she rose to the title of Evening Administrative Supervisor of Nursing. After retiring from HMC, she continued her career performing nursing duties at the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility in Lebanon, NJ.
A passionate animal lover, Maryann loved all of God's furry creatures. Her daily routine included filling bird seed into feeders and fresh water into bird baths and at one point shared that she was able to feed deer right out of her hand while standing in the back yard. She was a long-standing member of the Hunterdon SPCA and often frequented Tabby's Place in Ringoes, NJ. Her prized possessions were her many pet cats that she had through the years including Chinky, Simba, Bucky and Baby. In addition, she had an extensive love for making pottery, baskets, and jewelry and was an avid collector of antiques and knickknacks.
Among her survivors is her sister, Jane (Bacorn) Griffin; her two nieces, Donna (Griffin) Vernon, Susan (Griffin) Lizzi, and nephew (Jeffrey Griffin), along with several cousins.
Visitation (10am) and services (11am) will be held on Thursday, July 10th at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by burial alongside her parents at Cherryville Mountainview Cemetery, Cherryville, NJ.
