Mary T. Rando, age 82 years, longtime resident of Flemington Borough, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Brookdale Monroe-Assisted Living Facility, Monroe Township, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, June 17, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Olive (Gigante) O’Leary. As a young woman, she grew up in Brooklyn, NY, but had lived in Flemington, NJ for the last forty years.
For over 40 years, Mary was the manager for a medical publishing company.
Mary was a communicant of the Saint Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church and member of the church choir. In addition, she was an avid bowler and tabby cat lover. She was also charitable with her time and money and enjoyed volunteering at the Flemington Area Food Pantry and donating to numerous charities. Mary also enjoyed walking everywhere she could. In fact, she was a proud participant of the local Healthy Bones program.
Her family remembers her as a generous and helpful person whom they enjoyed spending time with, whether it be a cruise to Bermuda or just a visit during the holidays. She will be missed.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Anthony Rando, who died in 2000; as well as her brother, John O’Leary, who died in 2015.
Surviving are her siblings, Cathy Hickey (Nick) of Staten Island, NY and Michael O’Leary (Liz) of Old Bridge, NJ; her nieces and nephews, Thomas, Kenneth, Dawn, Michael, Jennifer, Carol, Eileen, Patricia, and Christine; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Thomas, Chris, Danielle, Lauren, James, Michael, Julian, Matthew, Amy, Daniel, Kyle, Emily, Maddy and Henry; as well as her sister-in-law, Monica O’Leary.
A visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00 PM & 7:00-9:00 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Father James DeFillipps, will follow at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Graveside services and entombment at St. Magdalen Mausoleum, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ will immediately follow the mass and conclude the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in her memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
