Mary Jane Petercsak, 89, of Lansdale, PA, formerly of Flemington, NJ, passed away in the company of her son on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale, PA.
Born January 15, 1936, in Stratford, NY, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Stewart and Rose (Cickay) Hull. She grew up in Middlesex County NJ and graduated from Perth Amboy High School (NJ) and lived in that area until moving to Flemington in 1964.
Mary Jane was a talented floral designer, craftswoman and gardener. She won many ribbons and awards for her floral arrangements, including the President’s Award for Design at the Flemington Agricultural Fair. A member of the Community Garden Club of Hunterdon County for over 40 years, Mary Jane held various positions such as president and creativity chairperson. She also attained the position of chairperson of the Delaware Valley Unit of the Herb Society of America.
Her Christian faith was very important to Mary Jane and she was a longtime member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Flemington where she was active in the alter guild. As flower guild chairperson, she trained church members in the skills of arranging flowers for the altar and for special occasions.
Mary Jane loved to impart her knowledge of floral design and garden/herbal crafts to others. To that end, she held many classes at the local libraries and for Adult Education programs in Hunterdon County.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph Andrew Petercsak Sr. and her son, Steven Stewart Petercsak. She is survived by her son, Rudolph A. Petercsak Jr. of Perkasie, PA; her sister, Nancy Merritt, of Margate, FL, and a host of other family members.
Funeral service for Mary Jane will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Calvary Episcopal Church, 44 Broad Street, Flemington NJ 08822. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery on Capner Street in Flemington. Calling hours at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St. in Flemington will be on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
