Mark Douglas Wilcox, age 74 years, of Easton, PA passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at his childhood home in East Amwell, NJ surrounded by his immediate family.
Born May 4, 1950, Mark was the oldest son of Earle and Doris (Kline) Wilcox, and grew up in East Amwell Township before moving to Easton, PA. He returned to his childhood home after experiencing recent medical issues. Mark and his mother, Doris, took great enjoyment that they shared the same birthday (May 4th).
Mark graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1968 and then received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Glassboro State College and a Master of Arts from Trenton State College. He taught in the East Amwell Township School District (his childhood elementary school), worked for SIEMENS Corporation in Export Control, Bihler of America, and owned and managed apartment buildings in the Easton area. In retirement he enjoyed working at Coca-Cola Park, the home of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs Triple A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Mark was known for helping countless people, from tutoring adults to get their GED, helping friends and tenants in times of need, and acting as a father figure.
In his spare time, Mark enjoyed following Philadelphia Eagles football, visiting Cape May, political discussions, and was an avid reader. Mark had a great sense of humor and was known for quick-witted comments to get a lively conversation going.
Mark is pre-deceased by his father, Earle H. Wilcox, and his brother, Kim A. Wilcox. Mark’s grandparents were David and Ethel Kline, of Three Bridges, NJ and Seward and Bertha Wilcox, of Reaville, NJ. Surviving is his mother, Doris Wilcox, of Flemington, NJ; brother Brian Wilcox, sister Eileen Westlein; and nieces and nephews.
Arrangements and cremation services are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
