Madeline Christine Warnecke

Aug 17, 1941 — Jul 30, 2026

Milford, NJ

Madeline Christine Warnecke (née Shields), age 84 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026,  with family by her side. Born August 17, 1941, in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Harold Shields and Blanche (Zyck) Shields

A lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, NJ, Madeline pursued her education with determination and excellence. She graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1959, demonstrating early on the dedication that would define her life and career. Continuing her academic journey, she attended Georgian Court University before graduating from Trenton State Teachers College.

Madeline made a lasting impact in the field of education as an elementary school teacher at Three Bridges School in Three Bridges, NJ. Her commitment to her students and passion for teaching contributed to the enrichment of many young lives over the years. Later in her career, she embraced new challenges, earning her realtor’s license and establishing herself as a respected real estate professional.

Known for living life to the fullest, Madeline was characterized by her independence and strong-willed spirit. She delighted in antiques and frequently spent time searching for unique pieces at estate sales and antique shops.

Socially vibrant, she cherished gathering with her close circle of friends and was especially fond of lively weekend outings and dancing. Her shore house in Ship Bottom, NJ provided a beloved retreat, where she and her late husband Bob, as well as their fur babies, were able to turn beautiful moments into cherished memories.

A devoted animal lover, Madeline’s compassion extended beyond her personal relationships. She rescued animals throughout her life, and her empathy for all creatures was evident to everyone who knew her.

Family was at the core of her life; she maintained close relationships with her cousins and was known as someone who “loved to be good to her family and friends.”

Madeline is survived by over a dozen cousins and extended family members. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, Robert E. Warnecke, who passed away in 2009.
