Laura J. Bay (née Laura J. Duffy), affectionately known as “Lu-Lu,” passed away peacefully at the age of 58 on March 5, 2026, at her home in Ringoes, NJ, surrounded by her loving family.
Laura was born on August 30, 1967, in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John P. Duffy and Jane (Bellis) Duffy. She later made her home in Ringoes, NJ, in 1980, where she had spent the last 46 years. A 1985 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, she built a life filled with family and long-lasting friendships.
Laura was employed for many years with Johanna Foods in Flemington, NJ where she served as Transportation Supervisor. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. Above all, she cherished her role as a wife and mother.
Laura shared 33 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Richard Bay. Together they raised two daughters, Amanda Gillia and her husband Robert of Ringoes, NJ, and Jessica McGowan and her husband Anthony of Philadelphia, PA. She also leaves behind two brothers, Christopher and Sean, a sister, Rosann, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Joan; her brother, Dennis Duffy; and her parents, John Duffy and Jane Bellis Duffy.
Family was the heart of Laura’s life. From driving her daughters to sports practices, to hosting Friday night “Pizza Night” gatherings, to cooking for family parties – where her dishes were always a highlight. She looked forward each year to the family’s annual vacation to the Outer Banks, NC, as well as numerous Caribbean cruises and trips to the Florida beaches, creating memories and traditions that will be cherished forever.
Laura’s love and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, New Jersey, under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, New Jersey. Interment will follow in the family plot in Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Ringoes, New Jersey. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
