Kenneth Joseph Volk, age 81 years, of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, died peacefully, with family by his side on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, in New Jersey.
Born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, February 26th, 1943, he was the son of the late Foster Snyder Volk and Doris T. Volk.
A United States Army veteran, Kenneth served from July 10th, 1964, as an MP in Vietnam until his honorable discharge from service on April 12th, 1966.
A member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters for over fifty years, Kenneth retired five years ago as the President of I. Heller Construction, where he worked for forty-seven years.
Kenneth was an avid carpenter and enjoyed building homes and furniture by hand. He was a member of the American Legion in Frenchtown, New Jersey, and also enjoyed spending time on his boat, visiting friends and family, and traveling.
He is pre-deceased by his brother, William S. Volk, who passed in 1996.
Surviving are his two daughters, Claudia and Kendra; three grandchildren; his nephews, Bill and Bob, his nieces, Tammy and Wendy; and many other beloved extended family members and dear friends. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of having him touch their lives with his good humor and generosity.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at 10:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, New Jersey. Interment will be held privately. Visitation will be held Friday, October 4th, 2024, from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
