~In Loving Memory of Judith Eleanor Johnson~
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Judith Eleanor Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a woman who touched the hearts of all those fortunate enough to know her.
Judy was born on January 27, 1944, in Somerville, New Jersey, to Winfred Mannon and Dorothy Britton Mannon. She passed away on November 4, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center, at the age of 82. While our hearts are heavy with sadness, we are also filled with gratitude for the 82 years of memories, love, and special moments that made her life so meaningful.
Judy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved working on puzzles, finding joy in putting each little piece together. She enjoyed painting, expressing her creativity through colors and imagination. She also had a love for travel, exploring new places, experiencing new things, and creating lasting memories along the way.
But above all, Judy’s greatest legacy was her family.
She and her husband of 63 years, John Johnson, built a life together centered around their family. She was the loving mother of Karen and John, who will forever carry her love and memories in their hearts. She adored her daughter-in-law, Kim, and son-in-law, Keith.
She was a cherished grandmother to Todd, Kenny, Erica, and Carli. Each grandchild holds special memories of their grandmother, moments that will become even more precious as the years go by.
She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Owen, Ava, and Eliza, with another great-grandchild, Summer, soon to arrive. Through them, her legacy continues into another generation. Although they may not fully understand the significance of this loss today, they will grow up hearing stories about their great-grandmother, learning about the wonderful person she was and the love she had for her family.
In addition to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Judy is survived by a sister, Dorothy (Mannon) Murdock and brother, Bruce Mannon.
Judy was also predeceased by several of her siblings, Robert Mannon, Nancy (Mannon) Greif, and Marjorie (Mannon) Yard.
Of course we cannot forget her beloved dog, Bogey, who held a very special place in her heart.
Reader’s Digest, the long-running magazine, had a monthly column titled “Laughter Is the Best Medicine.” Judy certainly understood that sentiment. She had a special gift for making people laugh, and she found just as much joy in laughing right alongside them. Her sense of humor and ability to bring smiles to others will be remembered by all who knew her.
When we think about Judy’s life, we are reminded that a person’s legacy is not measured simply by the number of years they lived, but by the love they leave behind.
Perhaps life is a little like one of the puzzles Judy loved so much. Every person, every experience, and every memory represents a piece. Some pieces bring laughter, others bring challenges, and some become the moments we treasure most. Together, they create the beautiful picture of a life well lived.
It may feel as though an important piece of our family’s puzzle is missing. But Judy’s place in that picture will never disappear. She will always be part of our story.
Although we wish we had more time, we are thankful for the time we were given. Judy was loved, she will be missed, but she will never be forgotten. Her love will continue to connect generations, and her memory will forever remain a part of our family.
