Joseph P. Szwed

Joseph P. Szwed, age 75 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died Sunday, January 16, 2005 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Wallington, NJ, March 7, 1929, son of the late Peter and Frances Krawiec Szwed, he had resided most of his life in Delaware Township.

He was employed in the Shipping Department of Johns-Manville Corp., Manville, NJ for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1986.

Mr. Szwed was a member of the Delaware Township Senior Citizens and was a graduate of Flemington High School, Class of 1948.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Olenick Szwed; a daughter, Deborah Tettemer of West Amwell Township, NJ; two sons, Joseph J. Szwed and Anthony Szwed, both of Delaware Township, NJ; two sisters, Wanda Micek of Raritan Township, NJ and Violet Novak of Delaware Township, NJ; and five grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Thursday in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
