Born in Portugal on September 7, 1956, he was the son of Jose Canelo and Elisa Rosa Almeida.

Mr. Canelo was the proprietor of Alcoentre Construction Company in Newark, NJ.

He was survived by his wife, Maria (Rodrigues) Canelo.

Interment in Portugal.
