John Sabo, Jr., passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, in Flemington, NJ. Born on August 28, 1941, in Linden, NJ, Mr. Sabo led a life marked by kindness, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
An amazing father and grandfather, John was deeply cherished by those who knew him best. His generosity of spirit extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of many through his compassionate nature. Outside of his professional commitments, John enjoyed active membership in the Flemington Elks and found joy in coin collecting, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for history and detail. John was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard and a dedicated corrections officer at the Mountain View Youth Correctional Facility in Annandale for 30 years before retiring.
John is survived by his daughters Nicole Acuna and Danielle Sabo, who carry forward his legacy of love and integrity. He was also a proud grandfather to Autumn Marion who he helped Nicole raise, Brandon Bratkovics, Erika Acuna, Connor Acuna, and Emma Acuna, and a great grandson Logan Rivera each of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was predeceased by his beloved spouse, Patricia Sabo; his sister, Anne Magera; and his parents, John Sabo and Anna Pallipal. The memory of their bond remains a treasured part of his story and a solace to the family.
Services to honor John’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, located at 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will take place at 12:00 p.m. at the St. Magdalen Mausoleum, 94 North Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
In remembrance of John Sabo, Jr., those who had the privilege of knowing him will carry forward the values he lived by: kindness, dedication, and the warmth of family. His life’s work and gentle spirit leave an indelible impact on his family and all who were fortunate to cross his path.
