John Peterpaul, age 92 years, died Friday, December 23, 2022, at Spring Oak of Toms River Assisted Living Facility, Toms River, NJ.
Born in Hillside, NJ, September 10, 1930, he was the youngest son of Anthony and Victoria (Fresolone) Peterpaul. He had resided in Hillside until 1978 and Flemington, NJ from 1978 until recently.
John was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951-1953 before being honorably discharged.
An extremely hard worker, he was formerly employed in the construction industry for most of his career.
His family remembers him as a man of few words, the quiet patriarch of the family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Patricia A. Peterpaul, who died in 2020 as well as his twelve siblings. He was the last of thirteen.
Surviving are his four children, Chery Cort (Rich) of Toms River, NJ, John R. Peterpaul, Jr. of Toms River, NJ, Laurie Cartwright (Ken) of Columbia, TN, and James Peterpaul (Donna) of Milford, NJ; and three grandchildren, Brett Peterpaul, Matthew Cartwright, and Leana Peterpaul.
A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. James DeFillipps, will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10:30 AM in the St. Magdalen RC Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, Flemington, NJ. Visitation will be private.
