John B. Solano

John B. Solano, age 96 years, of Waretown, NJ, formerly of Colonia, NJ, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in the Southern Ocean Medical Center, Stafford Township, NJ.

Born in Kearny, NJ, April 5, 1918, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Lico Solano.

He was a retired serviceman with Elizabethtown Gas Company.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Davis Solano, in 1997. Surviving are his daughter, Sharon Ann Savacool, of Waretown, NJ; two brothers, Joseph Solano of Flemington, NJ and Frank Solano of Middletown, NY; a sister, Sarah Cadorette, of Bloomsburg, PA; his five grandchildren: Dawn Taylor, Donald Savacool, Steven Savacool, Kristin Solano, and Anthony Solano; eight great-grandchildren; and his niece, Joan Duda, Ph. D. and nephew Joseph.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Hazel Wood Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home.
