Joan Doreen Harris, born September 15, 1946, in Summit, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, in Flemington, New Jersey. Throughout her 79 years, Doreen distinguished herself through her dedication to knowledge, her steadfast compassion, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.

Doreen graduated from Summit High School, and then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her pursuit of a thoughtful and holistic life led her to dedicate herself to the study and practice of Herbal Medicine. She achieved the distinguished rank of Naturopathic Doctor, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to learning and to the care and well-being of others.

Doreen was an avid member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clinton, NJ. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping and taking long walks with her late husband Larry.

She will be remembered dearly by her surviving loved ones, son, Lawrence Harris III and his wife Yumiko, daughter, E. Robin Daum and her husband, Darryl S. Daum, grandchildren, Riona and Kai Harris and Austin R, Harris Castagno; her siblings, Jack "Tiger" Bystrak, Robin Bystrak-Thome, Kim Gibson, and Barbara Nolfo, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Doreen was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Lawrence Harris, Jr., her parents, Jack D. Bystrak and Dorothy Bubnis Bystrak, siblings, Pricilla Bystrak, Walter "Tubber" Bystrak and Henry Bystrak.

Joan Doreen Harris’s legacy is one of kindness, wisdom, and gentle strength. Her life touched many, and those who knew her will forever carry the echoes of her caring spirit and the inspiration of her accomplishments.

A graveside service will be held privately in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clinton, NJ at a later date.
