Henry C. Lincoln, Jr.

Henry C. Lincoln, Jr., passed away on Friday, May 28, 2016, in Flemington, New Jersey. Born on November 18, 1964, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Henry lived a life marked by his devotion to enjoying the little things, his passion for nature and music, and his love for family and friends.

Henry graduated from the University of Hartford in 1986 and became an English teacher who inspired countless students with his commitment to learning and his engaging teaching style.

Later in life, his passion turned to coaching his son, Brent, in baseball, where he was Little League director and a mentor to countless athletes over the years. His dedication was undeniable.

Henry's interests were as diverse as they were enriching. An avid bird-watcher and photographer, he found solace and joy in observing the subtle beauties of nature. He would spend countless hours waiting for the perfect shot of an eagle flying by or a bird perched in its nest. His photos were true works of art…

Hank, as he went by, was also an avid disc golfer, playing every course he could find. From putting in the backyard to traveling the coast to find the best course, disc golf gave him a newfound peace in life and a way to bond with friends and family.

Hank truly enjoyed the rhythms of music and embraced the adventure of traveling, all of which underscored a life lived with curiosity and joy. Whether it was going to see his favorite bands, the Grateful Dead, Gov’t Mule, or JJ Grey and Mofro, Hank would never pass up the opportunity to catch any show, no matter how small or how far away. Music was a staple and driving force of adventure in his life, and so many friends gathered around him to just enjoy the music. "If you get confused, listen to the music play..."

He is survived by his son, Brent Lincoln, who carries forward his father's legacy; his sister, Virginia Lincoln; his brother, Edward Lincoln; and his significant other, Johnna DiSanto, who stood by his side as a steadfast life partner through life’s journey. Henry was preceded in death by his father, Henry C. Lincoln, and his mother, Grace Lincoln, whose memories live on in the hearts of those who knew Henry best. Henry C. Lincoln, Jr.’s life was a testament to the power of dedication, kindness, and enthusiasm. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his impact will continue to resonate through the many lives he touched.

Cremation services will be held privately under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
