Gregory C. Robinson, affectionately known as Greg, passed away on June 6, 2026, in Flemington, New Jersey. Born on February 11, 1949, in Long Beach, California, Greg lived a life marked by dedication, craftsmanship, and heartfelt care for those around him.
Greg’s early life saw a move from Long Beach, to Virginia, and eventually to Lakewood, Ohio, where he completed his high school education. It was part of a family deeply rooted in service, with his father having served as a Commander in the United States Navy. In keeping with this tradition, Greg himself joined the US Navy and served as a Corpsman with the United States Marines. His military tenure included postings to naval stations across the Mediterranean, Cuba, and at Bethesda Naval Hospital, where he was inspired to pursue a career in medicine. Following his military service, Greg embarked on a career with Ortho Pharmaceutical. It was during this time that an associate introduced him to the art of stained glass manufacturing—a craft that would define the latter part of his professional life and ignite a profound creative passion.
Greg was a masterful craftsman whose work became a cherished fixture in the community. He owned “Suncatchers by Reps” and “The Glass Wizard,” both located in Flemington, where he specialized in creating custom windows, and unique stained glass pieces. His artistry adorned esteemed locations such as the former Union Hotel in Flemington, the Flemington Elks Lodge, the former Country Griddle in Flemington, and numerous churches throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Further sharing his expertise, Greg opened a storefront in Rocky Hill, New Jersey, where he also taught stained glass making, inspiring many to explore the beauty of this timeless art form.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Greg was known for his compassionate nature and his deep love for people. He was a man who cared profoundly and expressed this through his artistry, his relationships, and his many hobbies. An avid scuba diver and certified SCUBA instructor, Greg explored remarkable underwater sites, including the Andrea Doria shipwreck and multiple locations throughout the Caribbean. His musical tastes reflected a love for the classics, cherishing the sounds of the 1950s and 1960s, old country ballads, and Christian Rock, with a particular fondness for the band Third Day. His own musicality extended to his participation as a former member of the Hunterdon Harmonizers, a local vocal group. Greg also enjoyed cooking, hunting, and had a notable fondness for the color purple—small details that painted a fuller picture of his vibrant spirit.
Greg was a devoted husband to Elizabeth Ann (Rogers) Robinson for 55 years after she agreed to be his penpal while he was deployed with the Marines. They fell in love through their letters, and lived a rich life full of love, memories, and dedication to each other. One of Greg’s most treasured relationships was with his daughter, Tiffany, whose professional musical pursuits he supported completely and unwaveringly. This enduring support was a testament to his generous heart and the deep bond they shared.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann (Rogers) Robinson; his daughter, Tiffany Robinson of the Bronx, New York; his sister, Marilee Robinson of St. Louis, Missouri; and his two brothers, Mark Robinson of Michigan and Donald Robinson of Pahoa, Hawaii. He also leaves behind a number of beloved in-laws: Bruce Rogers of Northampton, Pennsylvania; Carolyn Trostle of Easton, Pennsylvania; Nancy Turoczi of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania; and Susan Meckes of Allentown, Pennsylvania, all of whom held a place in his extended family circle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Vincent and Violet Marie (Sharp) Robinson, and his sister Renee Brimus.
