Fred C. Thomisser formerly of Readington Township where he resided in Whitehouse Station, NJ since 1971, passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 82. He was predeceased by his parents, Ferdinand and Anna Eberhardt Thomisser and by his brother, Werner Thomisser, of Charlotte, NC. He is survived by his nephew, Stephen Thomisser (Elizabeth), of Charlotte, NC, and his niece, Cara Thomisser, of Charlotte, NC. Additionally, Fred is survived by his godson, Kevin Malley, of Weehawken, NJ.
Fred was a member of the first graduating class of Bridgewater-Raritan High School in 1962. He received a B.A. in Political Science from Villanova University in 1966 and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in 1968.
He taught Political Science, Government, International Affairs, and History at Northampton County College in Bethlehem, PA for eleven years and was later employed at Raritan Valley Community College in its data processing center.
Fred was a longtime member of the Whitehouse Rescue Squad, having joined the squad in 1980. He was also a volunteer driver for Hunterdon County Meals-on-Wheels from 2006 through 2014.
Fred was known for his distinctive personality and playful sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and could often be counted on for a joke, a clever observation, or a perfectly timed pun.
