Frank E. Burd

Frank E. Burd, 95, of RD1, died Monday, August 5, 1985 in Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington.

Born in Quakertown, Mr. Burd was superintendent of schools in South Bound Brook from 1921 to 1946. He formerly taught school in Stanton and Pattenburg.

A graduate of Rutgers University, he as past Grand Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias for the State of New Jersey, a member and past president of the Hunterdon County Historical Society, and a member of the Amwell Church of the Brethren, Sergeantsville.

Husband of the late Florence Parkes Burd, he is survived by a daughter, Margery Grover of Stockton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday from the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
