Francine K. Shamatovich

Francine K. Shamatovich, age 85 years, of Kingwood Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Rolling Hills Care Center in Lebanon, NJ. Born on January 31, 1941, in Manhattan, NY, and growing up in Forest Hills, Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Titzler) Stellitano.

A 1958 graduate of Hunterdon Central High School, Francine dedicated much of her professional life to supporting the legal and charitable sectors. She began her career as a legal secretary at the law firm of Large, Scammell & Danziger, LLC, in Flemington, NJ. Later, she continued her commitment to helping others by working as a clerk for Catholic Charities in Flemington, where her efforts left a lasting impression among colleagues and those she served.

Francine’s proudest accomplishments reflected her steadfast Catholic faith as a communicant of St. Magdalen de Pazzi Roman Catholic Church in Flemington. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and provided her with strength and inspiration through both joyful and challenging times.

During Francine's earlier years, she enjoyed the beach with her friends and family. She took great joy in preparing meals with and for her family, especially around holidays throughout the year. Summertime was one of her favorites, always welcoming anyone to come by for a swim and a picnic, her favorite dessert being strawberry shortcake. Francine enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and always looked to celebrate their special moments and accomplishments. With great pride, she could be seen at many baseball games and other events of her grandchildren, as she also did with her children when there was a baseball game, swimming event, and other occasions. Francine also enjoyed taking the RV out with Paul, whether locally to Ringing Rocks or to Connecticut to visit family.

Francine treasured her children and grandchildren, preserving every token of affection exchanged between them throughout her life. Francine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Tammy Bishop of Kingwood Township, NJ; her grandchildren, Christopher Tallamy, Kaitlyn Tallamy, and their father Glenn Tallamy, as well as Zachary Bishop, and Brandon Bishop; as well as her stepdaughter, Jennifer Murphy, and her husband, Timothy, of Alexandria Township, NJ. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Thorne and Brenda Bacsa, along with several other beloved extended family members.

Francine was predeceased by her devoted husband of over thirty years, Paul Shamatovich; her daughter, Donna Tallamy; her stepdaughter Susan Hopta and two siblings, Frank Stellitano and Kathy Gmitter.

Private graveside services will be held in Rosemont Cemetery, Route 519, Rosemont, NJ.
