Born February 4, 1890 in Flemington, she was the daughter of Henry Burdett and Virginia (Large) Herr. Mrs. Bachman was an English teacher in East Orange.

Her husband, Frederick Bachman, predeceased her in 1967.

Graveside services were held at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington.
