Eva Fleck Alles, 97, of Westminster, MD died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at BridgingLife Dove House. Born April 19, 1926, in Milford, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred Fleck. Eva was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Alles, who died October 21, 2011.
Eva and Fred spent most of their lives living in Flemington, NJ, moving to Maryland in 1989. Eva held a variety of positions with local businesses in the Flemington area, before becoming the assistant manager of Flemington Saving and Loan, later Somerset Savings Bank. Eva and Fred worked together in banking for many years. While in New Jersey, she was an active member of Three Bridges Reformed Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher. She and Fred enjoyed traveling in the country and abroad, visiting every state in the country.
Eva dearly loved her family and friends and was always greeting others with a smile. She was a resident of Carroll Lutheran Village and transitioned from independent living to Good Shepherd Way toward the end of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Westminster. Eva was kind and generous, leaving those feeling warmed by her embrace. She loved shopping, the Christmas season, cooking and baking, and the beach. She had a vast Santa Claus collection which earned her recognition in a local newspaper. Eva was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt.
Eva is survived by her son Brian Alles and wife Catherine Alles of Westminster; granddaughter Jenell Alles Beck and husband Jeremy Beck of Sykesville; granddaughter-in-law Brittany Alles Osterman and husband Kurt Osterman of Mt. Airy. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her grandson Harry Alles and her sister Jean Fleck McNally.
A memorial service in her honor will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Westminster, 65 Washington Rd, Westminster MD 21157.
Private graveside services will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Westminster or Good Shepherd Way of Carroll Lutheran Village.
