November 30, 2003 — May 30, 2026

Grass Lake, MI

Edward James Zanetti passed away on May 30, 2026, in Grass Lake, Michigan, at the age of 22.

Born on November 30, 2003, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Edward lived a life defined by loyalty, love for family, and a genuine connection with those around him. He graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, New Jersey, in 2022. He had previously enjoyed playing basketball as well as football for Watchung Hills, the Hunterdon Huskies, and Hunterdon Central. His passion for mechanics led him to continue his education at the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) in Lima, Ohio. Following his studies, he began his career with American Tire in Flemington, New Jersey, where he remained employed until 2026.

He was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Edward G and Olga M. Zanetti, James and Eleanor Austin, Philip and Mary Ann Tigar, Joan Kaesler and Stella Merunka.

Edward is survived by his parents, Daniel and Heather Zanetti of Flemington, New Jersey, and Joan and Paul Cometto of Grass Lake, Michigan; his brothers, Cash Cometto (17) and Dominic Cometto (11); and his beloved girlfriend, Angelina Madriz.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Nancy and Jeff Wyatt; Daniel and Diane Zanetti; Kathleen and Preston Young; Peggy and Robert Merunka; and Joan Cometto and the late Jan Cometto.

Edward will be deeply missed by his loving aunts and uncles: Tammy Wiszniewski; Dennis Johnson (Carolina); Melissa Zanetti; Wes (Sabrina) Merunka; Frank McPherson (Amanda); Keith McPherson; Kevin McPherson; Dawn Moschberger (Brian); Michael Ronaldo; and Austin Smith (Linda). He also leaves behind sixteen cousins who cherished him dearly.

Edward’s loss is especially felt by his closest friends—Elias, Thomas (“The Real Damen”), Aidyn, Greg, and Scott—as well as the many others who had the privilege of knowing him and calling him a friend.

Above all else, Edward loved his family. He treasured every moment spent with them and often traveled great distances simply to be together. His kindness, sense of humor, loyalty, and caring spirit touched countless lives. He was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and partner whose presence brought joy to those around him.
