Edward Livingston of Sarasota, Florida, died on October 7th, 2026 from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease, four days after reaching his 90th birthday.
Ed was born in Baltimore and graduated from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1958. After completing active Army Reserve duty he joined Johnson & Johnson in Somerville, NJ as a management trainee in 1960. That year he married his wife of 65 years, Barbara Miller.
His career progressed in consumer marketing with several major companies, including Gucci. Ed’s career culminated with an entrepreneurial twist when he founded Cookware & More factory outlet, an early internet retail success in Flemington, NJ.
Ed and Barbara retired in 2001 and enjoyed many years of travel, as well as their homes in Long Beach Island, NJ and Longboat Key and Sarasota, FL. He is survived by his wife Barbara, niece Elizabeth Holzman of Arizona, nephew Peter Cole of New York City, and brother-in-law Lewis Cole of New York City. Also surviving are his beloved sister-in-law, Ida Miller of Fullerton, California, and several devoted nephews and cousins.
Inurnment will be private in the Memorial Garden at Three Bridges Cemetery in Three Bridges, NJ with arrangements by Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
Donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Affinity Care Hospice of Sarasota, 8590 Potter Park Drive, Sarasota, FL 34238. Please designate “Nursing Services.”
