Edward G. Sigafoos

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Edward G. Sigafoos died Sunday, April 28, 1996, at Lynchburg Hospital. He was 79.

He was born in Phillipsburg, a son of James and Ella O'Connor Sigafoos. He lived in Holland Township most of his life. He then lived in Chattanooga, Tenn., for five years before moving to Lynchburg 12 years ago.

He worked for Jersey Central Power & Light Co. at its Phillipsburg facility for 35 years, retiring in 1979.

He was a former member of Clinton Baptist Church and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Lynchburg.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Merrell Sigafoos; a son, George Sigafoos of Chattanooga; a step-daughter, Ruth Ann Mitchell of Chalfont, Pa., and two brothers, John Sigafoos of Graham, N.C., and Harvey Sigafoos of Haddonfield.

Services were held Tuesday at Gethsemane Baptist Church. Burial is set for 2 p.m. tomorrow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown, under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home in Flemington.
