Douglas G. Stryker

March 7, 1950 — June 4, 2025

Flemington, NJ

Douglas G. Stryker, a beloved figure in his community, passed away at home in Raritan Township, NJ on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on March 7, 1950, in Somerville, New Jersey, Doug dedicated much of his life to serving his community and building a legacy that will be remembered for generations.

Doug had a distinguished career, serving as the Chief of Police for Clinton Township, New Jersey. His commitment to justice and public service left a lasting impact on the community he so proudly protected. Beyond his professional achievements, he was an active member of various organizations, including the State Chief's of Police Association, The Masonic Lodge, and a lifelong gold member of PBA 188, where he formed lasting friendships and built connections with his peers.

Doug's generous spirit and kind heart was felt by all who knew him, especially his family who were so dear to his heart. His proudest accomplishment was his family. He was a devoted husband and friend to Susan Stryker for fifty-six years. Surviving are his two daughters, Jamey Mancini and Jodi McGill, his sons-in-law, Matthew T. McGill and Joseph Mancini; grandchildren, Matthew Douglas McGill and Arielle Giaquinto, Traci McGill and Fred Hughes, and Alyssa Mancini. Doug also loved being a great-grandfather to Matthew S. McGill and Emrys McGill.

A man of many interests, Doug was not only dedicated to his professional life but also had a passion for construction and real estate, where he undertook the building and renovating of many houses in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. An avid farmer, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of raking hay and working on the land. His favorite things to do were playing pinochle with friends, golfing at the outings, and playing Let it Ride at the casinos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Stryker and Gladys (Jones) Stryker Klotz, and his brother, Kenneth Stryker. Doug will be remembered not just for his contributions to the community and his professional accolades, but also for his loving nature and the joy he brought to those around him.

Stryker will take place on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 1:00-4:00 PM, and again later from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
