Donna A. Conway, age 69 years, of Whitehouse Station, NJ and West Palm Beach, FL passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Staten Island, NY on March 8, 1951 and raised in North Babylon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Ashley and late Hazel Baum.
Donna shared her time between her favorite place at home in Stanton Ridge and her getaway at Ibis in Florida.
She devoted her life to her children and her family, saying that the one thing she always wanted to be was a Mom. Donna was a proud mother of three children, Frank, Regina and Alex, and three grandchildren.
A gifted artist like her mother, Donna’s passion for artistry was discovered early on and flourished in high school. She was a fabulous artist who loved sketching, carpentry, gardening and architecture. She always invested into new projects around the home, designing the landscape and remodeling the kitchen.
Her kitchen was where she was excited to host every holiday or celebration. She enjoyed sitting down to read recipe books and discovering new ways to cook for her family and guests. She felt immense pride when her ever growing family gathered around at the dinner table.
Italian cooking and culture had always warmed her heart and fueled her soul. She embraced her time in Italy and truly felt at home there. She often traveled the world with her husband, family and friends - always the adventurer, explorer and learner.
When not traveling the world, she spent much of her time hitting the links at Stanton Ridge or Ibis. She loved the challenge of the game, and the awards and recognitions she received never compared to the joy of friendships she made and the community she shared on the golf course.
She is survived by her husband of almost forty-six years, Frank D. Conway, of Whitehouse Station, NJ; her three children, Frank Conway II (Hilary), of South Orange, NJ, Regina Hoffman (Kevin), of Gillette, NJ, and Alex Conway (Laura Hieronimczak), of Valley Cottage, NY; her three grandchildren, Collin Conway, Penelope Hoffman, and Luke Hoffman; as well as her siblings, Greg Ashley (Barbara), of Edison, NJ, Geoff Ashley (Joann), of Stuart, FL, Keith Ashley (Ednah), also of Stuart, FL, and Dory Mulvaney (John), of Shirley, NY.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Magdalen RC Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ will be celebrated on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 11 AM under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
