David A. Ericson

David A. Ericson, beloved husband, father, Pop Pop, Uncle and friend passed in the home he built on Thursday, August 6th at the age of 69, after a brave 4-year battle with Glioblastoma. Born May 14, 1957 in Morristown NJ, the son of the late David Ericson and Mary Ciampaglione Ericson. In addition to his mother, Dave is survived by his wife of 43 years, Theresa Ericson, his daughters, Nicole Nittel, Kelly Cecilian, Jaime Raducha and their husbands Bret, Patrick and Jeremy, as well as his four grandchildren; Charlotte, Bear, Lily and Isla. His sister, Deborah Brignola, husband Lou and daughters, Uncle Edward Ciampaglione, the McNally family and lifelong friends.

Dave was a hardworking man, beginning his career at age 18 as a Union carpenter. He soon moved on to start his own construction company and built the house his daughters grew up in. He worked his way up to large construction companies responsible for stadiums, hotels, arenas and airports. He retired as a well-respected Superintendent at AECOM Tishman where he worked even after his diagnosis, pushing through treatment to show up daily.

Most importantly, he led a life centered on family, devoted to his wife and children. He loved coaching his daughters in both softball and basketball and would spend countless weekends at tournaments. He cherished his lake vacations with his family and his early mornings on the boat catching fish. Those relaxing days typically ended with nights by the fire pit together, drink in hand, while star gazing.

Dave is remembered as a wonderful husband, father, Pop Pop and loyal friend. He was a detailed craftsman and avid fisherman. A fun, quick-witted man who often found himself at the center of a party. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his grace and dignity through an arduous journey. Dave lived a life guided by the noble, yet simple act of doing the right thing and being a kind human. May we all aspire to think a little more like him.
