Born in Moscow, PA on February 14, 1914, he was the son of Claude Bortree and Belle Gilpin.

Mr. Bortree was employed by the Flemington Fairgrounds.

He was survived by his wife, Dorothy (Jones) Bortree.

Interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.
