RARITAN TWP -- Charles Saharic, 91, died Tuesday in Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Twp.
Born in Russia, March 25, 1911, he was the son of the late Edward Saharic. He had formerly resided in Whitehouse Station, NJ for 35 years, then in St. Petersburg, FL for 15 years and had resided in Raritan Twp for six years.
He was formerly a foreman at Taylor-Wharton Corp., High Bridge, NJ. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Whitehouse Station, NJ and built the shrine at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station, NJ. He was a graduate of Rutgers University where he received his degree in engineering.
His wife, Helen Sawicki Saharic, died in 1996. Surviving are four sons, John Saharic of Raritan Twp, NJ; Robert Saharic of Fleetwood, PA; Alex Saharic of West Amwell Twp, NJ and Michael Saharic of Mt. Vernon, ME; six grandchildren and two great-grand children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 Rte 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ. Interment will be in Rural Hill Cemetery, Whitehouse, NJ. Calling hours will be Thursday 7-9 p.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington, NJ.
