Casimir J. Baran, most recently of Flemington, NJ passed away on May 7th at the age of 91.
The youngest of nine siblings, Casimir was born in Plains, Pennsylvania to the late Eva (Jablonski) and George Baran in 1929. After high school, Casimir worked as a manager for College Hill Poultry where he met his future wife, Catalda Palmisano. They married in 1955 and went on to have three children, Lewis, Patricia and an infant son, Casimir, who predeceased him. The couple raised their family in Irvington, New Jersey before moving to Mountainside. He and Catalda, or Kay, as she was affectionately known, were married for 43 years prior to her death in 1998. Cas went on to work for the US Postal Service until his retirement.
Casimir was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside. He was a hard worker who worked two jobs for many years to support his family. Casimir loved the outdoors and was an accomplished gardener whose landscaped property often earned him many compliments. But, most of all he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always put family first.
Surviving is his son, Lewis Baran, his wife, Holly, daughter, Patricia Weiss, her husband Bill, four grandchildren; Jessica, Bill, along with his wife Ally, Kerstin, Ethan and great-grandchild, William.
He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral service for Cas will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ 08822. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover NJ. Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cas' name may be made to Meals On Wheels in Hunterdon, 5 Walter E. Foran Boulevard, Suite 2006, Flemington, NJ 08822.
