Caryn Lynn Santucci, a cherished wife, mother, sister, and aunt, age 56 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ. Born on September 26, 1969, in Staten Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Mahoney) Carlevarini. She had formerly resided in Staten Island, NY before moving with her family to Hunterdon County in 1979.
A graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1987, Caryn pursued higher education at Mercer County Community College, where she earned her associate’s degree. Her professional life was dedicated to health care, as she worked for over 30 years at the Hunterdon Medical Center as a CT scan technician. Caryn’s commitment extended beyond routine duties; she often sacrificed nights and weekends at work to ensure she was present for her children during the day and throughout the week. This selflessness stood as a testament to her deep love and dedication to her family.
Caryn was known for her sweetest, kindest, and most generous spirit. Her presence was marked by love and care, qualities she embodied as a wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She was the most supportive mother anyone could hope for, proudly holding the titles of dance mom, football mom, lacrosse mom, soccer mom, band mom, and fencing mom among others. Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her four beloved children, who were the center of her world.
In addition to her deep familial bonds, Caryn had a fondness for the simple pleasures of life. She loved flowers, nature, and all things “cute.” The beach was her happy place, and she especially treasured the wildlife in her backyard, including deer, birds, and rabbits, delighting in feeding them. Her palate was characterized by warm favorites such as perogis, pasta, cheese, bread, Italian ice, and lobster tails—foods that brought her comfort and joy.
Caryn is lovingly remembered by her husband of 28 years, Joe Santucci, Jr., of Raritan Township, NJ; her four children: Amanda Santucci, Joseph Santucci III, Ava Santucci, and Matthew Santucci, all residing in Raritan Township, NJ; her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Phil Gentile, of Raritan Borough, NJ; and her brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Sue Carlevarini, of Flemington, NJ. She is also survived by five cherished nieces and nephews: Philip Gentile, Nina Gentile, Anna Carlevarini, Charlie Carlevarini, and Vinny Carlevarini.
